How do you do, fellow kids?
Congrats recent grads, sorry the world is on fire, so let's skip to Summer
June 2022
Hello from sunny (and dry) California - With world issues galore, inflation and a likely recession looming, I have been thinking a lot about the younger generations and all that they are contending with, but also how they are rewriting what it means to live & work differently now and into the future. Change is always inevitable, but now it is imperative. The conversations that teens and recent grads are having on spaces like TikTok are actually highly impressive and beyond where I was at that age - so that said, how do we better work inter-generationally to address issues and share learnings, and hopefully speed up solutions? Because I don’t think we have ever done a particularly good job of it, anywhere, at anytime. I feel a project coming around the bend….so send me your favorite mentoring platforms and experiences for research. And in the meantime, there is no big theme for this month’s edition (I was on the road a lot for both media and business, however there is a new video interview next month), but it is full of many cultural hot topics making media waves at the moment, so here comes the roundup!

Fight the good fight
First, as it is Pride Month, consider donating to organizations supporting the LGBTQ+ community (especially in Florida, where you should say ‘Gay’ as much as possible, and taunt the absurd people - ie. DeSantis - making terrible policy)
Second: Stop the guns. Support Every Town For Gun Safety (FYI: So far in the USA, there have been 246 mass shootings in 2022)
Now, onto the drama: the January 6th Insurrection hearings! In the words of SNL’s Stefon, “This place has everything” - Lying Trump family members & officials, corrupt corporations & politicians, badly hidden texts, call & documents, and so much more …so tune into every media station or outlet, with the exception of Fox because as expected, they won’t cover it.
Cheers, Carrie x Carrieamitchell.com
