March & April 2021
Much like The Blues Brothers (aka Vaccination Brothers for the purposes here), we are on a mission from medical science to vaccinate everyone in sight (like Dolly) and as the song goes, I’m beginning to see the light. It has officially been one year since this panoramic/pandora/panasonic/panini/pandemic began and optimism is finally growing with each jab. A year ago I was on a boat in Norway on assignment with Conde Nast Traveler that was turned back in the middle of the night as borders began to shut, followed by hiding out in California, New Mexico and Canada, before moving to the United Kingdom where I finally got covid last Fall but did make the UK PRweek Power Book top 10 list. So hey, anything can happen, but fingers crossed for celebrating ahead. Are there some glitches around distribution, covidiots and variant setbacks? Yes. Are we beginning to feel a twinge of excitement and dare to cancel some of our many streaming & workout apps? Also yes. Will we be able to run free into the world to travel this summer? Not so fast. But hang in there kitty, help is on its way, and so are the news links, so strap in…

Stop. Asian. Hate. This pandemic year has seen an increase of over 150% in violent crimes against the Asian Community on a global scale, mostly in the western world. Speak up & get involved here.
She was only walking home: The recent murder of Sarah Everard by a police officer in the UK resulted in an outpouring of anger and grief, as women around the world are all too familiar with the regular fear of harassment or physical harm. The statists around missing women of color - especially Native women - are exceptionally high and rarely reported. Demand more from our reps.
US Voter Suppression: After losing the state of Georgia, Republications sped a sweeping elections bill into law Thursday, restricting voters rights once again. Visit & support to the ACLU and Stacey Abrams Fair Fight initiative
US Gun Control: More mass shootings within a week of each other in Atlanta and Boulder. Greedy politicians in the pocket of the demented (and bankrupt both morally AND financially) NRA continue to pander politically and refuse to pass any helpful laws. Meanwhile Canada, Australia & Britain has. Follow Everytown For Gun Safety on ways to get involved.
